Mitcham Social

Originally a steel workshop in Melbourne’s outer east, this site was stripped back to its shell and refitted to create a modern, vibrant space. Many original elements were kept to retain an industrial aesthetic including beams, lights and steel girders. The layout posed a challenge to balance service, customer and amenities with an uncompromising outcome reached. Specialty lighting and artwork became key features of this popular local.

This was a total refurbishment of an existing cafe in beautiful Warrandyte, in Melbourne’s outer east. We updated the interior with white subway tiles, locally sourced recycled timber, stainless steel, Caesarstone and neutral paint tones for a warm and inviting finish.
