CAE Australia contracted Macwood Group to update their new Australian head office. This included complete design and construction for 200 + staff. The new site is a heritage-listed building in the first industrial area of Homebush, NSW. The heritage listing made it particularly challenging when designing the fit-out with various restrictions to the building. The building has an amazing atrium ceiling, with the natural light coming in a key element of the design. The open plan workstation areas are designed to utilise the natural light, providing a nice environment for the staff.

This fit-out had to stay in line with the global design criteria which included:

• Reception desk, waiting area, self-registration tablet stand, audiovisual screens for corporate videos display
• Customer area with self serve kitchen, works tables and couches, charging points for phones, laptops etc
• Conference rooms, small meeting rooms, breakout staff areas for informal meetings
• Open plan workstations with set areas for teams
